The Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) is a species of catadromous fish in family Latidae of order Perciformes. The native species is widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific region from the Persian Gulf, through Southeast Asia to Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia.

2008 = Indonesian Fishery and Aquaculture Export will value at 2,3 Billion US$
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia - MMAF (in indonesian language - Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan) set a target for 2008 fishery and aquaculture export value of 2,3 Billion US$ from Indonesia . Freddy Numberi, the minister of MMAF in a meeting with the legislatives of Indonesia said that the value was calculated from an export volume of 1,6 million tons.In the last two
